"Charlie" Murphy' (b. 1959) is an American writer, actor, and stand-up comedian known for his role on the American television program Chappelle's Show.

In his semi-true sketches, "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories", Charlie played himself as the nemesis of Dave Chappelle's character in "Chappelle's Show" (2003). Most famously in these sketches, Murphy was repeatedly bitch-slapped by Rick James (as played by Chappelle) and was crushed at basketball by Prince (also played by Chappelle).
